«Living Dreams Faidostrasse», Bruderholz BS, 2011 – 2015

Bruderholz is Basel’s southernmost residential district and benefits from a charming hillside location. The site is surrounded by prestigious single-family homes with park-like gardens. The new development, consisting of two structures, was placed in such a way that valuable trees are preserved, privacy is guaranteed from all sides and at the same time sufficient usable open spaces are created.

Each of the four flats extends over an entire floor and has its own entrance. At 2.74m, they have an above-average room height. The load-bearing structure of the two houses consists of a few structurally relevant cores, in which the flat’s service rooms, such as the bathroom and réduit, are located. The remaining area of the flat is free of supports and thus allows for completely flexible use.
