VAREM-Energie - New biogas plant
VAREM-Energie is building an innovative biogas plant on the site of the former NVA tank terminal in Damsdorf (DE). With an investment of 75 million euros, biomethane is produced from sewage sludge and organic waste. The plant mainly processes residual materials from the food industry and regional wastewater sludge, saves transport costs by disposing of municipal sewage sludge on site and feeds excess heat into a planned heating network in the municipality of Kloster Lehnin. Start-up is planned for summer 2026.
